We’ll I guess you’re reading this because you want to know who this guy is to take you on a trip.

Margaret River Adventure Co. is based on a single premise; playing and having fun. Read the philosophy.

I’ve always loved the coast; surfing, swimming, fishing, exploring and hiking.

My experience of the coast and it’s many moods will help in showing you the beauty of Margaret River up close and personal. Whether it be riding a bike along a deserted beach, patting stingrays at sunset, or spending a day exploring on your own Margaret River adventure, there’s something for everyone.

My attitude to safety and your enjoyment is paramount. I’m fully qualified and experienced in rescue and safety through my involvement in surf lifesaving over the past 30 yrs.

You can read more about my experience and other skills below….

I’ve spent over 40 years in the ocean, 15 of them in Margaret River. I reckon I’ve surfed, paddled, fished, hiked and visited nearly every coastal trail, reef ledge and beach in the region!

    Your Safety

Your safety is paramount to me in being able to enjoy your time in Margaret River. I’ve got over 30 years experience in aquatic rescue and ocean safety. I’ve worked in water safety services in a range of different areas, for Hollywood as the Marine Coordinator for the movie Drift, and as a consultant to the Emirate of Dubai. I spent many years coordinating the Margaret River jet ski rescue for Surf Life Saving and working as a rescue crewman in the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter. That’s me jumping out of the chopper! I was also the Government Project Manager for the world’s first artificial surf reef.

    Other Experience

I have a PhD in internet strategy and 3 other degrees in sports science. You can see my background at linkedin, or view details of my other business, a wine marketing company, Wine&Pixels. I also enjoy paddle surfing and made some videos of some days out at a local surf break a while back. My wife, Charlotte coaches local ladies in the pool, getting them confident in the water with ‘Swimming Women‘, and 3 boys under the age of 12 keep me constantly on the go!

    Things to keep you safe

My rescue qualifications and experience include; Surf Life Saving Australia Bronze Medallion, Advanced Resuscitation, & Helicopter Rescue Crew certificates and competencies. St Johns Senior First Aid certificate. I carry the following gear in case we need it; Comprehensive first aid kit; Handheld UHF radio, VHF marine radio. Our vehicle is a Land Rover Discovery 4 especially fitted out for touring and beach work. I am licensed by Department of Parks and Wildlife as an official operator within the National Parks, which means I have to abide by their rules and regulations. I liaise with the local rangers and lifeguards to ensure you have the best, safest time whilst touring with me. Sometimes my wife lets me use the thermomix.
